What a fantastic evening last night, for my first ever visit to JB Studios in benfleet. A photoshoot with the lovely Isabella Bliss. I managed to capture some beautiful images of her in the studio. Really enjoyed my evening and met some amazing people, that have come from london and hertforshire, there was about 8 of us shooting all one on one in the studio. great experience, and looking forward to the next shoot. Some of these images look like 1950's Marilyn, really pleased with the black and white ones. These are some of my best shots of the night... The full album can be viewed under Isabella in the Photoshoots page. Excited for the next shoot have booked another one on 5th May with a different model.

Congratulations to Laura & Louis on their Wedding Day!Monday was the beginning of the start of the Easter Holidays and also the day that Laura & Louis got married at Southend Registry Office. Laura & Louis have 2 children called Jude & Isla they were bridesmaid and pageboy. I took some photos seperately of the couple before the ceremony. Jude was full of boundless energy! as you can see :)) Isla was very reserved and ladylike and behaved impeccibly.
This is the family group shot just to prove everyone was there! :)
Lovely Couple, Beautiful Children, Great Day. Well the time has come for a new look website. I have lots of things planned for this year of 2023. I have more weddings coming through and some more photoshoots which is so exciting. Headshots are also being booked which is great news.
My website may take a week or so for its fresh new facelift, but it will be worth it :) I have so many images displayed on my website that I need to re-display the pages and content. This is an edit of the Coppa Club near Tower Bridge to keep you smiling until I am back :) Well I have spent the last week or so, paint x4 murals in a cafe in Basildon. These have took me around 45 hours to complete. I really stretched myself to compete these to a high standard.
I am really amazed at how much detail I was able to put into the murals, and how my 3D perspective is getting stronger and my eye for detail too. This is such a challenge for me, believing in myself is my biggest ever challenge. I think something was smiling on me from above, to give me the help and encouragement I needed to believe my work is good enough. I have had lots of compliments on my work, and I really hope to be able to get more work from this. It’s by far the biggest achievement to date! Very proud I was able to pull it out the bag at the final moments, and tie all the loose ends up to complete a satisfactory mural, for owners, staff and members of the public to enjoy. How is it that when your feeling down in the dumps, or not quite yourself, your friends are the ones who seem to notice.
They pick you up when your down, they are your knights in shining armour. They are your strength when you are weak, They are your inspiration when you have none, They take charge when you can’t, They help when you need it, They walk the extra mile when no one else will, They make you coffee and marmite on toast, They are your reasoning when your not sensible, They are your bank manager and your business head, They see the pitfalls when your not looking, But they encourage you to be the best you can be, And offer to help, to make you stronger, better and believe in yourself. Thank You you to all my wonderful friends, you know who you are :) Share the love and #choosekindness My bead cores came today. The silver centres to put inside. So I have turned my wallpaper into beads. Ready to make into jewellery.
Loving making the handmade beads. Watch this space!! Saturday was my busiest day of the year so far. A full on day a children's birthday party from 10-12. Then sort out at home for an hour, then a lady came to me asking me to paint something for her for Halloween. She said she would come to my house. I decided on a Rainbow skull Candy. which ended up being my favourite of the day. Thank you Amie Burns. Great Face paint. It turned into my favourite :))
Wow what a fab crafting weekend! Even though I have spend a rather large fortune on crafting supplies. Its been fantastic. ***I made a Journal from a A5 binder with Inserts and extra compartments. I laminated different pictures cut out from magazines. Added tabs and bookmarks from paperclips with ribbons attached to them. I also added some clear clip lock pouches, and punched them to keep them in the back for all my receipts for my accounts. So Im now going to be more organised. ***I made some earrings, ready to sell, as part of my Jewellery Business, (whispers...which is coming soon!!) . Made some Earring Cards to match, and ordered stacks of beads and findings, and looking forward to making some fantastic designs and jewellery sets in time for Christmas. Updates to follow soon :) ***I also designed some flat backed pebbles, ready to turn into Jewellery and embellishments for future projects. I was so pleased with how they turned out :) I love all the designs and colours. ***And I also made some paper beads, which I had super fun making from scraps of wallpaper! they are a bit big for anything dainty, as i made the holes super big! but they might be good for a chunky necklace and pandora style bracelet. Im just waiting for my bead cores to come! In between painting for my 100 day painting challenge, Ive had a very busy crafting weekend! with no kids home, I have not cooked dinner, or washed clothes, but learned some new techniques instead.
So its now back to the grindstone! Id better get some brownie points back, and cook a roast dinner, get some washing and ironing done, and get the house prepared for my amazon delivery which is staggered throughout the next week. ....Oh and make some room for it!! :) well I got asked to paint a commission of a Ferrari in Watercolours. Which is not my best medium. I was really struggling to get it right. I decided I couldn’t do it, couldn’t paint it, wasn’t going to paint it, hated it, end of conversation! Until two of my friends Lorraine and Nishma both decided I could do it, and showed me how it was possible. How I could achieve a finished result that I wanted, and that I could be proud of. Lorraine straight away made me paint and draw it upside down, she said my brain would work better and not trick me into seeing what wasn’t really there, and I would draw what I saw. She was really patient with me, showed me how I could build my wash layers, fade colours in and out, and lose all the hard lines. So this is how the process started, and I am grateful for her advice and tips because I am pleased with how it’s turning out. I have a few things to tweak. But this is my progress so far. Nishma was my determination. Believing in me. Kicking my arse when I needed it! Not sure I’d take on a Watercolour commission of a Ferrari again unless I did my Homework first. I definitely stretched my skills to create this and make it happen, with the help and support of my best fans. Thank You for all your help, to give me Watercolour confidence :))). I’m truly grateful x Well I decided to set myself a challenge of 100 paintings in 100 days. Now this seems a bit daunting, and I wondered why I was so cray to even think it would be a good idea, except the fact the painting journey I will learn over my 100 days.
100 days = 18 September - 27th December (christmas and boxing day included) I am currently on day 24, with still a rather long way to go on my painting journey, and it does cross my mind whether I will run out of inspiration along the way, and what will inspire me to make something through provoking. Im hoping that I can meet the challenge, and have some really great work along the way. I don't know where all these paintings are going to go yet, but I think I will sell some of them for charity, and make some re-prints from some. I will update and keep you all posted with my progress, thoughts trials and tribulations of my painting journey :) |
